Bobcats finish road trip in Salt Lake City vs. Jazz

Basketball Betting Lines

02/02/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Charlotte Bobcats conclude a five-game road trip in Salt Lake City Monday when they face the reeling Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena.

The Bobcats fell to 1-3 on the trek Friday in Denver when Carmelo Anthony scored 19 points in his return to the lineup and the Nuggets earned a 110-99 win over Charlotte.

Anthony, who missed the previous 10 games after fracturing his right hand, went 5-of-12 from the field and missed just two of his 11 foul shots in nearly 30 minutes of action.

Raja Bell had 27 points for the Bobcats, who have lost two straight after winning six of eight and are now 6-15 as the visitor on the year. Boris Diaw had 16 points, but accounted for seven of his team's 18 turnovers.

The Jazz, meanwhile, lost for the fifth time in six games Saturday in Portland when Brandon Roy scored 30 points to lead the Trail Blazers in a 122-108 rout of Utah at the Rose Garden.

Deron Williams posted a game-high 35 points and five assists for the Jazz, who continue to play without star forwards Carlos Boozer and Andrei Kirilenko. Mehmet Okur tallied 18 points and Ronnie Brewer 17 in defeat.

Boozer continues to rehab a left knee injury, while Kirilenko could miss up to four weeks after undergoing surgery on his right last Friday.

Home cooking has meant a lot in this series recently with the host taking the last five encounters between the two teams.

The Bobcats upended Utah, 104-96, in Charlotte earlier this season but the Jazz are a markedly different team in Salt Lake City, compiling a 18-6 record at EnergySolutions Arena versus just 8-16 as a visitor.

Stanley Cup betting

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.

The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.

MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.

Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
